Arunachal Pradesh Biodiversity Board (APBB) observed the International Day for Biological Diversity day on 22^nd May, 2021 with the theme “We are part of the Solution #For Nature”. Keeping in view of the prevailing Pandemic COVID-19 situation, the Arunachal Pradesh Biodiversity Board observed the International Day for Biological Diversity (IDB) 2020 in the following ways:

Online painting competitions were organized for school students in 2 groups comprising of Group A (Cl. VI-VIII) on the topic “How can you contribute for a better environment # for nature and Group B (Cl. IX-XII) on the topic “We are part of the solutions# for nature.
Online photography competitions were organized for the open category on the theme “Medicinal Plants of Arunachal Pradesh.
Awareness and publicity among the general masses was done through digital media newspapers, radio jingles, and other social media platforms.
Awareness on the importance of Biodiversity on the day of IDB was spread through All India Radio, Arun FM (local FM), Big FM, Itanagar which was aired from 21st -23rd May, 2021 in English and Hindi.
IDB messages and audio on the importance of biodiversity and IDB were also forwarded to all the BMCs and other local publics through facebook and WhatsApp groups for wide circulation and awareness.
The chairman, Member Secretary and staffs of APBB also participated in the national joint event of IDB organized by NBA and MoEFCC. The Shergaon BMC was awarded the Best Biodiversity Award in the category of Best BMC Award, 2021 during the virtual event. Members of shergaon BMC also took part in the event.
