As a part of Celebration an awareness lecture series on the theme Mainstreaming Biodiversity; Sustaining People and their Livelihoods as well as on Biodiversity Conservation was conducted. The key note address of the talk was presented by Sri N. Tam, Member Secretary, APBB. His lecture covers the issues to mitigate the sustainable utility of the Bioresource by the Tribal community without posing harm to the nature. He also emphasized the need on conserving every single species, focusing the role played by small insects in pollination, food grain production and plant fruiting. Member Secretary urges the Biodiversity Management Committees to play pivotal role in creating Biodiversity awareness among the local communities. Dr. B. Bhatt, Wildlife Biologist in Department of Environment and Forests presented a talk on the Wildlife of Arunachal Pradesh. Presenting the detail outlay of the Wildlife Scenario and the role of every organism in food web he spoke on the responsibility of the community in delivering the conserving ideologies. Dr. Bhatt’s deliberation specifically figured the issues responsible in harming the habitat of the wildlife in the State. Dr. Kenjum Bagra, Research Officer of Arunachal Pradesh Biodiversity Board, delivered his lecture on the role of BMC in biodiversity governance. He highlighted the Access and Benefit Sharing mechanism citing it as the major sources of fund generation for the local community. He suggested measures by which the bioresources can be sustainably utilize without harming the ecosystem. Shri Nyali Ete, Divisional Forest Officer, Aalo Forest Division, while narrating his experience in the region, request the village representatives to join hand with the government agencies in conserving flora and fauna.
